How to find us
Social commitmentAs a socially responsible organisation, Banque LBLux is involved in a wide range of social matters. Our commitment extends from donations for social institutions through promoting art, culture and sport to active protection of the environment. Art and cultureAs an element of our culture, art has a substantial impact on many aspects of life. Young contemporary art in particular is a clear reflection of the changes in our society. That is why we make a special commitment to it. This commitment is apparent in regular exhibitions through which we bring people together and promote artists as well as in our collection of contemporary art. ExhibitionsThe Bank regularly organizes exhibitions in its entrance hall, for example:
CollectionBanque LBLux has its own collection of contemporary art, which it began to accumulate when it moved to a new building in Luxembourg-Kirchberg in 1994. The concept, entitled "Works on Paper", was developed by Professor Gallwitz. The collection focuses on art from the younger and middle-aged generations and now comprises about 300 works by artists primarily from Germany. Some of the works were produced by very young artists, but some well-known artists, such as Jörg Immendorf, A.R. Penck, Günther Förg and Igor Sacharow-Ross, are also represented. Besides the exhibitions and the collection, we help to make art and culture accessible to a wider public through loan items, such as a sculpture made of granite by Ulrich Rückriem in Parc Réimerwee (Granit Bleu de Vire 1992/93) and three musical instruments, as well as participating in the annual Private Art Kirchberg event. Private Art KirchbergThere is no part of Luxembourg City quite like Kirchberg. This district (where the headquarters of Banque LBLux are located) has so many remarkable buildings with superb collections of art, which are nonetheless practically never open to the public. Eight Kirchberg companies, including Banque LBLux, have resolved to change this and now hold the Private Art Kirchberg event regularly. On this "open house day" these companies transform their buildings into a public area to give art-lovers and architecture aficionados an insight into treasures that otherwise remain hidden. This gives visitors an opportunity to look over the shoulders of institutional collectors and find out why and how the institution is collecting in the course of the guided tours. Private Art Kirchberg 2010 takes place on 26 September. Free of charge. Donations for social institutionsAs a good "corporate citizen", Banque LBLux lives up to its responsibility in respect of its home country. For this reason we are primarily involved in projects within Luxembourg, such as:
EnvironmentBanque LBLux places very great emphasis on introducing and implementing eco-friendly measures, particularly within its own building. more
