We wish to use this opportunity to summarise the requirements of the Luxembourg Data Protection Act (LDSG, Luxemburgisches Datenschutzgesetz) with regard to protecting personal information when processing data.
Luxembourg Data Protection Act (LDSG)
This law protects the basic rights and freedoms of individuals, especially their privacy, during the processing of personal information and provides for the observance of the legally protected interests of corporations.
What is personal information?
Personal information is information of any type, regardless of the data carrier, about a specific or directly or indirectly identifiable individual or legal personal. According to the type of contract, this could also include, in addition to name, address, date of birth and bank relationship, especially sensitive information such as income levels, account balances and portfolio values, financial creditworthiness and the like. According to LDSG, all this information is subject to special protection, which Banque LBLux ensures through technical and organisational means.
Gathering personal information
Personal information may only be gathered within the framework of the law and/or as legally required or with the consent of the persons involved. The information may only be gathered and processed to fulfil the respective purpose.
You are not required to provide any information to visit our website. We only record the address of your computer (IP address) temporarily and, for statistical purposes, the area of the Web you are visiting. The statistical analysis cannot be traced back to you and is only used to improve our Internet performance. Cookies are used in some areas of our website. A cookie is a small text file that is stored by a website on your hard drive. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and they do not contain any viruses. The cookies used on our web pages do not gather any personal data. We use the information contained in cookies to make it easier for you to use our web pages and to gear them to your needs.
Of course, you can view our web pages without cookies. If you do not want cookies to be stored on your computer, you can disable the relevant option in the system settings of your browser. You can delete stored cookies in the system settings of your browser at any time. However, if you do not accept cookies this may lead to functional restrictions on our website.

Banque LBLux views the sending of personal data or information as a declaration of consent for its processing.
Processing of personal information
"Processing" means any procedure or series of procedures carried out with or without the help of automated means, including the gathering, storing, reading, adjusting or changing, etc., of personal information.
Banque LBLux processes personal information on specially protected computers. The reading and additional processing of personal information is subject, firstly, to strict internal procedures and, secondly, is done solely for the purpose for which the information is entrusted to us.
Security and passing on personal information
According to LDSG, Banque LBLux is obligated, among other things, to take special security measures because part of its business activities consists of processing data which, if not treated properly and discreetly, could severely and negatively impact the privacy of its customers.
Personal information can only be passed on to third parties with the consent of the affected persons and in compliance with the laws of Luxembourg. Banque LBLux has taken organisational and infrastructural measures to safeguard the data entrusted to it.
Rights of access to and correction of personal information
The persons affected have the right to request written notification of the data concerning them stored at Banque LBLux and to have legitimate changes made.
